I suggest to test a new proximity sensor, the actual one may have its flexible connection cable slightly damaged. ;)

Thank you dear, but i think i finally got it. I know why the sensor is not working correctly.

A you can see in the photo, the sensor has a tiny rubber cover over it which is needed for it to work correctly.

Unfortunately, the sensor in the photo is taken from a youtube video. In fact, my sensor DOES NOT HAVE such rubber cover, which leaves the sensor exposed to the inner part of the screen and prevents it from working correctly.
I suppose the rubber cover was lost in the assembly line because it just wasn't there.

Until now, i had no luck in finding a spare proximity sensor nor a rubber cover, but while I'm looking I had an idea.

Dear Admin... can you provide the specifications of the dimensions of the proximity sensor and/or of the rubber cover?

You see, I have some skills in 3D modeling and have a very precise (down to 0.05mm) 3D Printer which can also print in a rubber-ish material... I can make the piece by myself if it is possible to recover the specifications.

Thank you for all your support.

Me not, but user Neville, wich usually disassembles lot of blackview devices, will be definitely helpful ;)

Hi all,
I finally fixed my Blackview, so I want to share with you the fix.

First of all, i tested the proximity sensor by opening the phone, which I think will void your warranty, so do at your own risk!
If the proximity sensor works fine when screen is lifted from the phone (you can test it in the hidden Mediatek Engineering Mode menu), then you probably miss the rubber cover which insulates the sensor from its surroundings.

The problem here lies in the fact that this rubber is not sold anywhere (no Aliexpress, no official reseller, nothing!) so I compared visually a photo of a rubber cover with various rubber cover for other phones:
I found out that the Blackview P2 and the BV8000 Pro actually use the same rubber cover, so I bought a rubber cover for the proximity sensor of Blackview P2
(here: https://it.aliexpress.com/item/Telefono-utilizzato-Proximately-Sensore-Manicotto-di-Gomma-Per-Blackview-P2-MT6750T-Octa-Core-da-5-5/32837526127.html)
and used it in my Blackview BV8000 Pro.

It now works like a charm! I'm so happy!

Thank you for you help blackview_admin
