Re: [TRACKED AND INVESTIGATING, ALMOST SOLVED] Phone reboots (crashes) at night, startup sound will wake up everybody

Sun Feb 11, 2018 3:40 am

So i have basically done every instruction step by step for the flashing/updating firmware and have been getting this error to 3 of the computers i have used (2 comps running windows10 and another windows7) see https://imgur.com/a/nApL8
is anyone else getting this? am i doing something wrong because to my knowledge i have done it as instructed. used the original cables and charged to 90% or higher

i have also concluded that my reboot/crashes are to do with the router i have at home but it is tied to my internet provider (Telus) and i thought it was because of their wireless frequencies, 5Ghz A,N, AC, so i have changed that to just 2.4G 802.11b/g/n and still no luck. doesnt do reboots/crashes with other routers though, or while i connect through a hotspot on my old phone.
could it be a defect on my phone?

If you can't flash your device to the 20180124 fw version, wich fixes/mitigates the reboot isssue, nobody can tell you if your device is more defective than others or not.

For problems about flashing, please refer to the specific thread:
viewtopic.php?f=192&t=319505
Feel free to post your flashing problems there!

You should un-install the hardware but keep the drivers. I think you did not read the instructions carefully. The hardware should be un-installed

I think it is time to make a proper update procedure manual using the "Sp Flashing Tool" instead of the "MTK SP Multi Port Download Tool". I found it much easier to update and manage the problems I had when trying to update the second time with"MTK SP Multi Port Download Tool". For anyone wanting to give it a try I am giving you the link that helped me but be careful because as always you must follow the instructions carefully and know what you are doing https://romprovider.com/2017/07/firmwar ... v8000-pro/ and of course

13 days without reboots

update 20180124

I have this phone since October, at the beginning there were no reboots. After updating probably from December (I think it was - BV8000Pro_blackview_20171219), I had reboots several times. But now no longer ... What I wish you all :-))

How did you update the firmware, by flashing or OTA (wireless)?
Did you do a factory reset?

By OTA and NO factory reset

Last weekend I tried to flash my device as instructed in the tutorial. Unfortunately this didn't work for me. Tried it on my Windows 10 laptop and my old Windows XP laptop.
Finally I succeeded Sunday evening late with the flash tool from this website: https://romprovider.com/2017/07/firmwar ... v8000-pro/

Unfortunately almost 24 hours later my device was rebooting again. The wifi was on and battery level was appr. 70%.
Monday evening I flashed my device again. First with update 20171227 to be sure. After this I flashed it with 20180124. There were some reboots during updating the Google apps.

Bad luck again. Tuesday evening the device was rebooting again. Also this time the wifi was on and the battery level was appr. 70%.
Flashed the device again with 20180124. During installing the updates for the Google apps there were some reboots again and one time the device turned it self off without any warning!

In just over a week I had a lot of reboots, flashed my device 4 times, did a couple of factory resets (appr. 5 times) and had to reinstall my apps multiple times.
My conclusion is that update 20180124 is not fixing the rebooting issue. At least not for me.

Definitely. I think that your device carries a really bad charging board... it's giving a reboot issue that can't be even palliated from a specific firmware patch!

I've ordered the charging board yesterday. Hopefully this will solve the rebooting issue together with update 20180124.

Personally I think the wifi has to do with the rebooting issue too. Turned the wifi on this morning with appr. 55% battery level and my device rebooted as soon as I touched the screen. And after the first reboot it rebooted immediately a second time.

Not only that, the 4-5 auto restart/day, but my launcher, the stock launcher 3 is crashing, I can't even use it. I must use a 3th party launcher, the 'N' launcher, what is working well, but impossible to use the stock launcher, because it crashes and can't even relaunch.

This would be one of the most important updates to solve it. It is ridiculous the stock rom is so buggy, the phone even unusable with it. A launcher is a quite important thing to use a phone.

Your problem is weird and uncommon.
To solve it, please flash your device to the latest version and perform a factory reset after that.
