Re: [TRACKED AND ALMOST SOLVED] Bluetooth issues

Fri Feb 02, 2018 7:28 pm

Hy admin,

I bought BV8000 pro for a week only and ASAP I noticed the bluetooth issue everyone have... So I googled and found you!

Well, after reading ALL this topic, I still have problem with Samsung Gear S3 Frontier disconnections... It now is more stable, but, for sure, the modification made by BV into stock ROM is the problem... Why a high power and balanced mode option? I have no manual to understand the difference of what each one can do to system! A balanced mode means lower CPU or more battery optimization? And inteligent battery mode? (sorry If I wrote wrong, but in portuguese is modo de economia inteligente) Isnt android's stock one enough? So, I have do disable all bluetooth apps from battery optimization, disable inteligent mode, etc, etc...

Well, I have Mi Band 2 and Gear S3. Mi band 2 all the time with me, even when sleeping. Gear S3 when I woke up I use it whole day.

But I shutdown the cellphone at night. When I turn it on, at the morning, Bluetooth is DISABLED ... Why???? Every other settings I did is there, but bluetooth no... If i enable it, I would like to have it the same way after turning off and on... this is natural, don't you think?

I also noticed that mi band 2 has a persistent icon at status bar that remember us that it is connected.. If I click CLEAR ALL messages, it still there. That's ok. But the Samsung S Plugin (from Gear S3) message disappears after cleaning the status bar messages, which I understand that somehow a part of the Gear S3 app was killed... Maybe, and only maybe that can cause the disconnection...

So, if it is not enough to disable android stock battery optimization to all those services, and disable your proprietary mode too, and put cell into its high performance mode, I still have to whitelist all Samsung gear apps, even without 100% sure that it will stop disconnections?

I hope android Oreo will not be so intrusive into those android settings... please, don't understand me wrong... I only thing all these mods are the real problem of bluetooth issues...

Thank you for your time and I apologize if , somehow, i did not make me clear (i would like to write in portuguese, to avoid bad word translations)

PS. I will now search forum to find a way to sort apps using laucher 3...

Hi dear!

I'll sum up, again, what to do to solve bluetooth issues. Read and apply each step carefully!

0) Consider updating your device to the latest firmware and performing a factory reset after that

1) Go to "Settings" -> "Background task clear" and whitelist all your 3rd party apps wich need bluetooth to transfer data (i.e. samsung gear app, veryfit app and so on..). By doing that, they will be allowed to run in background even if the smartphone is in deep sleep state.

2) Go to "Settings" -> "Battery" -> "3 dots" in the upper right corner -> "Battery optimization" -> select "All apps" from the dropdown menu and disable battery optimization for every bluetooth service app, as
- Bluetooth MIDI service
- BT Tool
- Bluetooth sharing

and for every app needing to use bluetooth to transmit data, as
- Phone
- Phone services
- Call management
- Phone/Messaging storage
- your 3rd party music player
- other telephone dialer apps
- fitness band apps and so on

3) Only if the previous steps doesn't solve your issue, ALSO:
- go to "Settings" -> "Battery" and disable "Standby intelligent power saving"
- Go to "Settings" -> "Duraspeed" and and disable it.

4) Only if, again, the previous steps still don't solve your issue, ALSO go to "Settings" -> "Battery" and set your device into "High performance mode"

Please follow these steps carefully and report back if your bluetooth issue gets solved ;)

Hi admin,

Standby intelligent power saving is ALWAYS disabled by default for me, because, as I told before, I believe android's Doze function should be enough to deal with battery. I dont like to use a function I don't know what it does to system... the same with Duraspeed and balanced mode... I set to high performance mode. 3 different functions that I even knew if they could work together... Do you understand what i mean? no manual = do not mess with that! rsrs.

Except for Call management that i forgot to fix in settings, the other files were already done. The first time I turned BV8000, it updated 3 firmwares... only after last update (because I did not know how to acess the recovery mode) I did a factory reset.

My mi band is fixed, with no problem of disconnection. The problem is Samsung Gear S3.
All 3 apps of samsung (Samsung Gear, Gear S Plugin and Samsung acessory service) are not battery optimized, but at whitelist function, only the main app is listed there (Samsung Gear) the other two are not shown as a possible app to be whitelisted. Just to make clear, the first time we open Samsung Gear app, it asks us to put himself not optimized and after clicking OK, it made the right setting in battery config. No alert about the 2 other files...

Samsung Gear works flawless with LG G5 H860 cellphone, which I try to change to BV8000.

By the way, Background task clear is written "Limpar tarefas em segundo plano" in brazilian portuguese... but this line is in german, I guess (aufgaben im hintergrund beenden)... it was hard to find, the first time...

I will test again Gear S3 behavior with "call management" new settings. Will return ASAP with feedback.
Thanks.

if you can't find all the samsung apps in "background task clear", you can just disable the background task clear option. Doing that will automatically whitelist all apps. Do that only if your bluetooth still doesn't behave properly.

Hello.

Well, I have news. After putting call management as not optimized, Samsung Gear S3 (from now on, only S3, ok?) kept its connection for about 2 hours...

Then I needed to make a call. At the moment I ended the call, I noticed that S3 was disconnected.

I opened the S3 app (Samsung Gear) and after that it restored connection.

It kept the connection for about 1 hour, when I was not home and received a call... So, all sugestions before did not worked to S3.

Now, I will try to disable the whitelist function... Fingers crossed!

HI Admin,

Unfortunately, S3 can't stay connected for long period of time. I have noticed 2 hours of connection as only 5 minutes... Can't find the trigger that disconnects it from cellphone...

I also find a bug (or bad behavior) of BV ROM... I don't know if reported before: Bluetooth does not keep its config after a reboot, like data or wifi does... If I set bluetooth enabled, after a reboot it always starts disabled... I consider a bug, because system should remember that option. No other smartphone I had have this behavior.

This phone has many issues that I can live with, like bad screen sensitivitiness, launcher 3 has no way to sort apps alphabetically, etc, etc, but a perfect BT connection is necessary.

Thanks for your time. I wil return to LG G5 waiting for the new Oreo ROM.

What about flashing the latest firmware followed by a factory reset? It's worth a try before returning to your LG G5.

ps. Can you also post screenshots about each step of the tutorial posted before? just to let me check if everything has been done correctly.

Hi admin

In fact I lost a whole week trying to make things work. Restored system 3 times. Lost 5 Gb of pics because it did not accepted my 64 Gb SD card. Reported as corrupted and worked only after a full format.
I will not spend more time with this rom version. But i uploaded right now a small file filmed with LG G5 to show the settings.
If you want to confirm if I missed something, just watch the file https://youtu.be/qvQ3PgD5DT0

1) What's your current firmware version?

2) if you don't tap on "Clear All" in the drop down menu, will the S3 keep itself connected without problems?

3) As far i can see, you installed 3rd pary app that may cause connection problems, as:
- Blue Car Tethering on Demand
- Best WIFI
- Helloguestwifi

I firmly suggest to perform a firmware update (if your fw version isn't the latest - please tell me your fw version!) followed by a factory reset to set some USER DEPENDING variables.
After that, PLEASE install ONLY the samsung s3 apps and NOTHING ELSE. Then apply again the settings stated in the previous posts and try it again.
Don't do anything else.
If you want your problems to get solved (or having a chance to have them solved), please, you have to follow methodically what i'm telling you to do.
