Re: [TRACKED AND INVESTIGATING, CULPRIT FOUND] Phone reboots (crashes) at night, startup sound will wake up everybody

Seems to be a feature of Blackview phones right back to the bv6000. They send out an ota and it stuffs your phone up then they expect you to flash it or what ever they want to call it. My bv 6000 continuously restarts. Not everyone on here knows how to just go and flash a phone .
Funny how you by one of these phones and blackview sends out an ota and stuffs your phone then expects you to fix it by flashing it I mean really come on, blackview stuffed it why don't they fix it the same way by ota instead of putting the onus on the customer.

Then I guess you should have gone for an Apple, Samsung, LG or HTC phone. Oh wait, those also have issues. If you want one of those phones you use right out of the box without updates or extremely easy updates, you will probably find them in the $700-$1000 region, not $200. Of course, having to flash a phone manually is costly and prone to some risk, but something needed in order to have everything fixed. Every system needs and installs updates, and sometimes even faulty updates (I can recall a few updates to Windows that had to be rolled back). As a developer myself, I know how hard is to keep you products up to date with a small development team.

Pono, don't forget that we also provide a simple tutorial for flashing!

I was a bit disappointed with my BV restarting too but seeing how BV crew are listening to us customers and making patches and what not makes all the bad feelings go away. Great effort from BV!

I have one reboot in 3-4 dys on FW 20171227.
Changed charging board yesterday, old one was v1.1 1728, replaced with v1.1 1737.
I'll report about random reboots later.

Thanks Chris, Mino's doc was most helpful. I did at least get to install the drivers without the Certificate issue, but then I get code 10 in device manager, cannot start the device. I've read up on code 10 and it talks about re-installing all sorts of usb bits and bobs - I'm not fancying breaking my windows machine... I think I will patiently wait for the lovely Blackview folks to push out the next OTA update ASAP.

i'd like to keep this thread on topic, but i want to say that getting the "code 10 error" in device manager after istalling the Mediatek drivers is normal: everything will work as it should, don't worry ;)

Now let's get back to the topic ;)

Well ,everyone is getting code-10 error i think as there is no hardware and we are only installing the drivers,I also got the same code-10 error and it had no issue with flashing new ROM.
So you need not to worry,Just check when you switch off your phone and plug it with your Pc ,Does you windows gives a sound of device connection or not?

Awesome, please let us know when you do 400 h ON time. Is changing the board a challenging procedure?

No, changing board takes about 15 mins...there's a Russian youtube of it that's quite helpful

Just to mention: I've experienced a "self-reboot" during last night. The phone was off the charger with 35% charge. The firmware is 20171227. Also I think I read all the messages here but I do not understand what is the culprit for the reboots? (it says "CULPRIT FOUND" in the title)

The culprit, until now, has been identified as a faulty charging board. But unfortunately, for the moment, no additional official infos about that.
