[SOLVED] BV8000Pro Screen freez after unlock

Wed Nov 29, 2017 5:32 pm

So my Blackview BV8000PRO just arrived and i have an issue with the screen, after i unlock the phone with the fingerprint sensor, the display wakes up, but the touchscreen is freezing for exactly 5 seconds every time, the same thing happens when i make calls and i move away the phone from my face, the screen lights up but i cannot push the "end call" icon until those 5 seconds have passed. The 3 capacitive buttons are also affected by the same thing. Is there a setting somewhere that can fix this? I updated the phone to the latest version and also did a factory reset but it did nothing. Is this something normal, because if it is, its very annoying. Please help. Thanks.

This lag is absolutely not normal at all.
Considering that
- the problem showed just out of the box
- updating to the latest firmware and a factory reset after that did not fix it
it looks like an hardware fault. Your device looks defective.

It can happen, it can happen for everything that you can buy, and i know that it may be disappointing.
Just contact your seller and get a replacement.

Contact us in case of problems while doing that.

I don't know if I have to anymore since the problem went away by itself the next day, I didn't do anything to it, I didn't mess around with the settings or anything, it just happened. Although, I noticed this morning that the phone had a reboot at night, since it asked me to draw the pattern after it scanned my fingerprint. Thanks for the reply.

Aw maaan, so i updated again to the latest firmware (BV8000Pro-Blackview-v0.1_20170803_20171219-1600) and the problem is back and it's the same thing. In every scenario where the display has to wake up, the touch screen and the capacitive buttons are completely insensitive for exactly 5 seconds, but after those 5 seconds go away it's working flawlessly, no lag or anything. I did the factory reset again but nothing. The only solution that i could find was downloading an always on clock app that keeps the screen from sleeping but that is draining my battery very fast. Can i revert back to a previous firmware? I read it somewhere on this forum that i cannot revert from update 20171114 cause it will brick the phone but can i do it from 20171219? Sending the phone back is not an option for me since i'd have to wait at least 2 months for it and i don't have a replacement and i need my email 24/7 for my job.
Please help. Thanks in advance!

Hi dear,
as i stated on the previuos post, your device is plagued by an hardware fault.
That's why a firmware update followed by a factory reset doesn't solve your -uncommon- issue.
That's why downgrading to a previous firmware will not solve the issue.

You'll have to contact your seller for a replacement, no other solution exists.

If you need your phone for your 24/7 work, i suggest you to buy another BV8000pro, and, when it comes to you, to send back the faulty one to your seller for a full cash refund (instead of a device replacement).

Probably cannot do that anymore since i rooted the phone and I'm assuming that voided my warranty.

Well, thanks for the help anyway, I guess my cheapest option now is to repair it myself with spear parts from Aliexpress, My last question would be, do you guys have a clue which component should i replace? I found the main board for 100$ and i wouldn't want to buy it if it's not the faulty component.
Just give me your best guess please.
Also HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

I would start to replace the whole display unit, as touchscreen is related to it. Not very expensive to try!
