Hi Admin,

I also have problems with calls. Similar to what was reported, when I hold the phone to my face, it randomly switches to speaker mode. I then have to move the phone away from my face, and click the loudspeaker off, and then put it against my face again. If the call is long, it can happen multiple times during the call. I downloaded an app called "Proximity Sensor Reset", and this did some calibration, but the problem is still there.

My current ROM version is: BV8000Pro-Blackview-V0.1_20170803_20171011-0929.

I will download the latest ROM, BV8000Pro_blackview_20171114, and try again after that.

Is this a common fault? Is there any fix for this?

I have the phone only a few months now, and to be honest I really like the phone, except for the following bugs/issues:
1. Call randomly switches to speaker - maybe a proximity sensor issue.
2. Phone does not synch with Gmail. I am using Tasker and Synker to achieve this.
3. PTT button is annoying when pressed accidentally - it makes a loud noise. Will be good to disable this - I hope this feature will be released soon.
4. Bluetooth - sometimes drops the audio when listening to music on Plantronics Voyager headset. Music randomly drops for 1 to 2 seconds, and then continues.
5. Bluetooth - will not pair with my Bluetooth smart scale. This works fine with 3 other HTC phones in the house.

If these issues were fixed, it would be an absolutely AMAZING phone for me!

Hi there, your problem is completely different from the one in the opening post.
Your problem is related to a proximity sensor fault, wich will need a replacement (you will have to contact your seller to get it)
I won't comment further because of the off-topic, but for the other problems, check the forum. They are almost solved. ;)

EDIT: i edited my post to help you while keeping this thread ON TOPIC.
If you have other problems or questions, please open another thread.

Hello ,
1. now i have to say to admin: I have also the same issue like justgenius and wrote in another subject to change please the telephone app. If the proximity sensor works (made a calibration that passes!!) then its ok for me with the app because the screen goes dark while holding it to ears.

2. I solved the "bug" for me that in my phone calls after a while the callee can´t hear me anymore orr sometimes a crinkling while holding phone on the left side. My fault was that I hold the device with left hand AND put little finger under phone to hold it better. Bingo: I covered the mic entrance. If I don´t do this the callee can hear me!!!!! yeah. The only thing is that they can hear me sometimes only silent or after covering the mic and take away my finger they can hear me very poor.
Are there any changes I can do to increase mic? In engineer mode, speech enhancement???? in Forum BV7000Pro its working...

Hello,
first thx for replying..
ad 1) I would prefer to have the buttons in the telephone app little bit lower on the side. like here
Dialer2.png
Dialer2.png (53.44 KiB) Viewed 3766 times
or like this
s7-nougat-phone-app-2.png

.Then we won´t touch the buttons by mistake, although I am liking the current layout much.

ad 2) We talked about my problem with the mic. Admin, do you think I should try to flash the newest update? Could it perhaps reassess my problem through the new kernel? With my seller gearbest I had already a conversation of repairing the phone, not replace it. Again: The problem with the mic is that if I cover the mic the callee of course can´t hear me any more, but if it´s then uncovered callee can hear me only silent till the end of calling. Callees told me either they can hear me only thunk not so clear. This I can say at the moment. Please help, so we can conserve a repair perhaps.

Performing a firmware update followed by a factory reset is always a good step, but not in your case.
Your device is faulty: a full replacement is the only solution (more than a repair, in my opinion!)

Hi, I have contacted the reseller (Blackview Direct) on Amazon, and they have asked me to perform 2 tests:
1. Dial *#87# in the dailing interface, then choose the Proximity sensor to test it. --> I did this and it works ok, no problems.
2. Please go to the settings-about phone-Build number and click bulid number for several times till the reminder appears.
Then go back to the about phone-developer options-Proximity sensor to test it following the steps.
--> I did this and it also works fine. It seems there is no problem with the proximity sensor, but still, speakerphone gets turned on automatically during a call, while I am holding the phone to my ear.

So, what next? Should I still ask the seller "Blackview Direct" on Amazon for a warranty replacement?

Yes, you should definitely ask for a replacement.

Hello and a really HAPPY healthy new year from me to all of you.

Want to report about my problem with the microphone. Hadn't so much time in the last few weeks and because of the amounts of parcels send on christmas I decided to update first my phone to newest firmware (now: 20171227) before sending it back to seller gearbest. I removed both sim cards and sd card and made first a factory reset. Then flashed firmware 20171114 and afterwards firmware 20171219, Update firmware 20171227 came via OTA. Each time after putted on new firmware started phone first, looked after all features run right, powered off phone and then made every time a factory reset. Now after the OTA update I inserted the sims and the sd card again and: the problem is gone. Now phone works fine and the microphone in calls is very clear, no more bugs.

Many THANKS to the tech team and you, blackview_admin for help.

Glad to hear that! That's why we reccomend to perform a factory reset after each firmware update ;)
Enjoy your device! :D :D
