The phone stays in charging mode even after disconnecting it from the charger. It will thus not do any power saving and the battery only lasts a day and a bit. After switching it of and on again, it exits the charging mode and the battery lasts almost twice as long.

Be sure to use the original charger and usb cable.
Update to latest firmware, do a factory reset and report back.
