[SOLVED] people on the other line hear themselves in VoIP apps calls

Thu Nov 16, 2017 8:04 am

Dear blacview team and users,

I have a following problem with my BV8000 pro:

people on the other line hear themselves during VoIP calls in such apps as Telegram, Whatsup, Skype etc.

They hear themselves whether I use the phone itself or the headphones (I use the original vacuum ones that comes with the phone), whether I use WiFi connection or 3g/4g. They hear themselves echoing loud and clear, which is very disturbing.

For some mysterious reason it works fine in normal phone calls, and people don't hear themselves echoing.

I was told that the problem may be because of record-call apps, but I don't have any. (Unless there's some hidden one working without my permission in BV8000 that I don't know about)
I called many people and all of them complain about echoing.

Please, help me fix that.

This is definitely an echo issue. As far as i know, it's quite common also on Huawei and Google nexus phones equipping Android 7, so Adroid (what a news..) could be the culprit.

The strange thing is that using headphones hasn't fixed the problem.

Did you upgrade to latest firmware and perform a factory reset?

For the moment you can try to disable google now, and expecially the "ok google" detection.
Try also to cover the mics at the back top of the phone during the call or lower the volume to half or three quarters of the way, and report back.

If doing what i recommended on the previous post doesn't solve your problem, try the Soundabout App .
It will force the use of speakers and microphone you select.

In the mean time i'm trying to reproduce your problem.

Just tried a VOIP session between 2 BV8000s
- We tried Whatsapp and then Skype.
- Both devices were connected to a GOOD PERFORMING network, WIFI and also on 4G.
- A combination of headphones and integrated speakers (also speakerphone) was used.

Result:
Whatsapp gave to both devices A BIT of sporadic echoing (i'd call it more a lag than an echo), but it wasn't costant and in the end not annoying.
Skype performed flawlessly.

Solution:
It's not a device fault, but I'd try with a factory reset just to kill some variables.
Be sure to use a performing connection to have the maximum call quality and latency! VOIP is always VOIP!
