Do as you please, but keep in mind that you loose the warranty of the phone and the headset by doing that.
This is a (bad, if you ask me) mod more than a solution.

I've ordered the 17mm jacks today. I'll post here when they arrive and each test of the process.
By the way, I'll make a batch of 25 pcs, not more (takes too long).

I kinda agree with you. That is the only thing I found to use any headset with my phone that does not require a modification of the phone or headset, though.
