Straight Talk Service

Sat May 20, 2017 5:46 am

Hi I just purchased one of these and the phone doesn't seem to work with my SIM correctly (My service is Straight Talk wireless). It reads it and shows my contacts but it cannot connect to data nor will it let me make a phone call. I have all the APN info correct, any help would be appreciated because I don't want to return this phone I love it!

Your comments showed that the phone can recognize the Sim.
Connectivity of P2 lite:
GSM:850/900/1800/1900
3G: 900/2100
4G LTE: B1/3/7/8/20
Can you please check these with your carrier?

The contacts on my SIM are only recognized. The pre-installed SIM toolkit always states "SIM toolkit is not ready or is unsupported" Downloaded a SIM toolkit app from the playstore and it reads the network type is unknown and the network operator is blank however the network state reads in service. Connectivity for what you gave to run P2 lite was verified with the carrier. This seems to be a hardware or firmware issue. Please advise.

This can have so many reasons.

Where are you living and who is your provider?
Had you checked if the phone covers the frequencies of your area/provider?
Had you tried to remove and insert SIM again?

If it's really a hardware problem you can change the phone over your seller.

I live in Coos Bay Oregon, my provider is Straight Talk which is pretty much a sub service for AT&T and T-Mobile mainly. I have never had this issue with a phone before, its very odd. My phone is the BV7000 Pro not the P2 lite as stated in previous reply. All bands were verified through my carrier before I bought the phone. Could it be that since I bought this phone direct from Hong Kong that something is written differently. I re-flashed the phone with new ROM to see if that would work, it did not. Again the SIM only recognized my contacts and did nothing else although stating that it is in service. I have ordered a new SIM through my carrier to see if that is the problem, highly doubtful since it works in other phones just fine. My IMEI numbers did get erased when I flashed the new ROM and I have not yet put them back in. Could this be the problem, it says the IMEI's are written for the "/data/NVRAM region" Is this region correct for the United Stated or does it have to be something different? I know it is a software issue somewhere, something out there has to make the SIM connect to a network, this phone is to cool to give up and I will flash and download till I'm blue in the face lol.

Any update on your success with Straight Talk? I'm into it about 8 hours over 3 days and although getting phone calls and SMS text going was fairly easy using the straight talk T-Mobile sim, data is still not working. The last (and supposedly most compatible) data settings they provided were:
X_PARENT_NAME : T-Mobile
RATE_PLAN : TracFone STW TTW2
ORG_ID : STRAIGHT_TALK
APN : wap.tracfone
AUTH_TYPE : None
MMSC : http://TF.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc
MMS_APN_TYPE : default,mms,supl

They said to only fill in the ones where there is a relate-able category in the APN setup.
I'm in Vermont in an area with strong LTE coverage known to work on other phones. It's somewhat hard to believe a flagship phone wouldn't be compatible. Does anyone else have working data for which they can share their APN settings?

Re: " ">same issue but using full AT&T unlimited data plan

I have the same issue verbatim except my AT&T service is the unlimited talk, text, & data plan. I'm not tech savvy so I didn't play with any alternative options on device, just followed the setup process without success due to the connectivity issue. I have not attempted to set device and data up via WiFi yet, will try tomorrow if unable to resolve this evening.
