BV 9800 Pro Recovery screen

My BV 9800 Pro started having apps "stop" yesterday. I would open Gmail and it would not respond then I would get the "app is not responding" pop up. It happened several times, to several different apps. Even uninstalling/reinstalling the apps didn't help. I thought that resetting the phone may help so I turned it off and then back on and after the BLACKVIEW screen I got a black screen with the words Android Recovery (and a stream of what appears to be code) in yellow lettering with instructions to use the phones volume and power buttons to make selections. Below that were the options, things like "Reboot system now", "Reboot to bootlogger", "Wipe data/factory reset", "View recovery logs", and several other options in blue lettering. But that is all my phone does. If I choose the "Power off" option, it will power off, then power right back on and go to the same screen. What has happened and what can I do about it? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated because the phone is useless at this point.

I have done the factory reset. The screen now looks exactly the same except at the bottom it reads:
Supported API: 3
Mounted / system
- - Wiping data...
Formatting /data...
Formatting /cache...
Formatting / mt/vendor/invdata...
Data wipe complete
Is there another of the options listed in blue lettering that I need to select or is there something else I should do?

Unfortunately Blackview have given bad advice. Your problem is caused by a faulty Google update this week affecting a large number of Google system apps. Try and update all your apps via Play Store.

When the apps began auto stopping, I uninstalled and reinstalled most of them and made sure they were updated. The last time I had updated everything was just a couple of days before this happened.

I have a similar problem with a family member's phone - it is an A80 running Android 10. Since a fault occurred this morning, where every app is stopping including ( android.process apps) with the phone continually rebooting itself, the command prompt suggestion of a Factory Reset during reboot was selected. But now the phone will not reboot at all and the Blackview logo has been on the screen for at least two hours.
