Hi!
I have a BV9800 Pro phone and the Android version on there is too old and not up to date. It's 2021 and the Android security patch level on the phone is October 5, 2019!
The firmware I have is BV9800Pro_EEA-S65_V1.0_20191113V1, but the auto updater does not offer anything newer. How can I get up to date patched version of Android? I don't necessarily need Android 10 (which is probably not going to happen, as I read on the forum), but do need a secure release.
There are many vulnerabilities, some of them remote, that affect the current android version - for example, CVE-2020-0022, "On Android 8.0 to 9.0, a remote attacker within proximity can silently execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the Bluetooth daemon as long as Bluetooth is enabled. No user interaction is required and only the Bluetooth MAC address of the target devices has to be known. For some devices, the Bluetooth MAC address can be deduced from the WiFi MAC address. This vulnerability can lead to theft of personal data and could potentially be used to spread malware (Short-Distance Worm)."
This is a last resort for me, as not having an up to date system is a reason for me to RMA the phone.
Regards,
Ladislav
