A9 PRO MALWARE / VIRUS

Thu May 25, 2017 11:21 am

There is an application pre-installed in the A9 PRO called BeautySnap.apk (shows as a system app com.android.snap). This app has no interface but claims to be a camera / filter type application. On analysis the app is malicious / malware with hard coded links to advertising and money transfer sites and performs encrypted uploads ... are Blackview going to produce a ROM / Update without this app ?

The app com.gangyun.beautysnap is frequently contacting up to 7 servers in China.
And it is not only checking the servers, it starts sending device data.

Such as IMSI, IMEI etc.

Blackview, please send immediate FOTA Update of new ROM without this app!
We don't need this kind of spyware/malware in your phones.

Thank you.

i disabled this system app and as extra measure with no-root firewall disallowed internet access. But indeed: this app should NOT BE on Blackviews packages (also installed on BV7000)

Thanks for your feedback. It seems that Blackview officially think that they are not responsible for this pre-installed spyware app.

Yes, the app can be disabled without ROOT.
And it stays deactivated after several restart of the phone.

Does someone has already instructions how to root the A9 Pro?
