Phone won't start - volume button appears to be stuck

Hi
The volume on my BV7000 Pro kept changing the volume by itself, so I rebooted the phone. Unfortunately it now won't start, but instead displays a menu with the message "Select Boot Mode", volume UP to select, volume DOWN for ok. The arrow is moving between the options without me touching any buttons, which makes me think the volume up button is stuck on.
I have tried repeatedly pressing the volume buttons and they seem to move OK, but I can't get past this boot menu to start the phone so it's currently unusable. The phone hasn't been dropped or damaged in any way. Do I need to return the phone as faulty, or is there anything else I can try first?

You can check the button with removed side-part.

OK, I removed the right side part and couldn't see any problem but pushed the volume up button membrane a few times in case it was sticking. No change. However, when I switched the phone on today it started OK, which is great! However, now the volume up button doesn't work...
Any more suggestions? Or should I return the phone? I have only had the phone for 3 weeks so this is rather disappointing. Is it possible that updating to the latest ROM might fix the problem?

If opening the side changed the issue it seems to be hardware related.
If you are not able to get the button work again (all connections ok?) I suggest to ask your seller for repair/exchange.

@davista: possibly, the small plastic insert for "+ / - volume" in the metal side part is mounted upside down ; it's not symetrical (note the small lip)! Occurred to me after assembling the phone and looks like the volume up is pressed continuously when mounted incorrectly..

Thank you for that tip, PietK - excellent observation! I took the side part off again to check and it was the right way around, but I noticed the other buttons have a similar lip.
blackview_admin, thanks for confirming the hardware problem. I can get the volume to go up now if I push the button really hard, which isn't ideal but at least it works. I may request an exchange from the seller. Perhaps it might be good to add a note to the teardown video about replacing the buttons the right way around, as PietK has mentioned?
