High power use of the WiFi chipset

Hi,
I am very happy with my new BV7000 Pro so far, but I did notice that whenever WiFi is on and used regularly, the battery drains faster than I am used to. My previous phone was a BV6000, and I ended the work day usually with some 60-70% battery remaining. The 7000 regularly drops to below 30%.
And it is the WiFi, as the battery settings page reports it as the #1 power user, and turning it off dramatically increases battery lifetiime.
Is this a normal consequence of the new 5G chipset, or will this be fixed in a driver update later on?

Hi admin,
Current firmware version is BV7000_PRO_Blackview_20170411-172021; the phone downloaded and installed this when I took it out of the packaging, and it reports no newer version right now.
@dsm0210 Switching to Android 7 on a bv6000 is obviously not a solution.

Hello, I have the same problem of power consumption probably related to wifi. My brand new bv7000 pro runs out of battery in roughly 12 hours with regular usage. (no games, no filming, no nothing); furthermore, it seems to become quite warm in the upper back area.
My wireless Update shows BV7000_PRO_Blackview_20170324-210250 and as I search the wireless updates it respondes that my device is up to date.
I have a basic knowledge of android and, since my phone is really new I don't want to mess around with it.
Please give me some simple explanations of what I am supposed to do. If the problem persists I will have to return it to Amazon.
Thank you.
