Re: High power use of the WiFi chipset

Tue May 09, 2017 7:34 pm

Hello, I have the same problem of power consumption probably related to wifi. My brand new bv7000 pro runs out of battery in roughly 12 hours with regular usage. (no games, no filming, no nothing); furthermore, it seems to become quite warm in the upper back area.

My wireless Update shows BV7000_PRO_Blackview_20170324-210250 and as I search the wireless updates it respondes that my device is up to date.

I have a basic knowledge of android and, since my phone is really new I don't want to mess around with it.

Please give me some simple explanations of what I am supposed to do. If the problem persists I will have to return it to Amazon.

Thank you.

Hi everyone

This morning I enabled Battery Optimization as suggested while my phone was 100% charged, and I used it for only three calls total. The optimization worked for what it was supposed to, as a matter of fact, the battery life went from 12 hours before optimization to 16 hours of operation after. Even so it is not nearly comparable to the 624 hours of idle or 9h of video whatching or19h of talking time as advertised. I took a snapshot of the consuption to show that there is something wrong with the wifi software.

As far as the update, I have tried it again and again and the answer is always negative.

I used to own a bv6000 and I found it wonderful untill I lost it, so I am sure that BV people know what they are doing, please I need an official answer and a sure fix otherwise I will have to return it.

Thank you

Hello everyone,

After the firmware update the battery usage has improved considerably, so I believe that the software problem has been solved. However the BV6000 lasted more. With my BV6000 I could really charge every 48hrs+, on the other hand, with BV7000pro it is better to charge every 36 hours.

I will be waiting for an OS upgrade and caontinue with my valuation.

BV6000 had a bigger battery than BV7000pro!
