I notice that the phone is encrypted by default.

I can't find a way to unencrypt it - pressing 'encryption' does nothing...can anyone else see if theirs is like this?

I see by a bit of googling that new phones come with this and can't be un-encrypted

You could install my TWRP version and then format data. That should also remove encryption. But please remember it deletes all your user data such as photos, etc.

See here: Image
"Telefon verschlüsseln" means "Encrypt phone", so mine is not encrypted at present.

Hmmm, did you flash a FW with SPF before? If yes, it is very easy. Download my TWRP and place it in the same folder of SPF. Extract the FW image from Blackview in the same directory.

So you have original and new TWRP in the SPF folder. Then start SPF and un-select all except Recovery.

In the column Location (on the right side) click on the name, where most probably you see something like Path:/SP_Flash_Tool_..../recovery.img
A window will open up and there you choose my TWRP (in the same folder).

Check again only Recovery is selected.

Switch of your phone. After that click on download at the top of SPF and then connect the mobile to your PC. Use a good and short cable.
After flashing is finished, unplug your mobile and keep the volume up button pressed, while you switch on the phone (power button for about three to four seconds, keeping the volume up button still pressed until the tiny menu appears). The first entry boots then into recovery. Vol up selects the entry, vol down is like ok button.

Also then a good choice to wipe Dalvik and Cache within TWRP. I read from other users running into problems with non-booting devices or white screens. That could avoid such problems.

Thats it then.

Hope that helps
