I received version 20180515 via OTA. Now I have found at least 2 apps that I certainly haven't installed myself. On the one hand "infoHub", apparently a news and stories collector. On the other hand, an app called "IDroi Channel Provider", of which I don't even know what it is intended for. Why do I suddenly have these apps? And which apps were also secretly installed?

Just disable them in your App draw.
If you can root your phone, install root-app deleter to remove them.

I've not received the update yet. Did you notice anything interesting except from useless apps? Security updates maybe?

Because we heard "they will come (soon)" for such a long time, it's getting ridiculous.
Given the fact that BV probably isn't making much money off their phones, from their POV it makes more sense to focus on supporting newer phones. Still, for us, it's frustrating.
