will this device ever receive an update to Android 8 / Oreo or even 9 / P?

Because I heard that Google made creating updated ROMs much easier for this version, as the hardware layer and the rest of the OS layer are now fully separated, allowing one to keep the same hardware layer (the stuff that is so much work for manufacturers) and just update the OS above!

That would mean that if you did that one more release, you could forever offer updates with basically no work!
That would be really cool for Blackview and for us, the customers. Don’t you agree?

The MediaTek processor probably also does not help....
