Yes there are many bugs. We all know that! How can you tell that they are fixing these bugs? Where did you hear that they are going to release ANY new updates for for bv6000?

I have software version BV6000_Blackview_V01_20160608 and I look for updates all the time and it keeps saying I have the latest version and no updates are available. My bluetooth will pair but disconnect immediately since the day I bought my phone and I am hoping that it may just be a glitch in the software of the phone. Can anyone tell me how I can find a newer update for my phone and upload it through the sd card?

Chinese brand phone makers are notorious for giving false promises, weird details and vague information and answers to questions.
I dont assume anything. But they did say repeatedly that the current rollout to 3000 users was a pre-release stage, and then once feedback in gotten and more work done (my translation of their blurb) then and only then will they release 7 to everyone.
Who knows when that could happen. It could be weeks, months even.
However blackview seems to be sticking around for now, so hopefully they will eventually release a full 7 version relatively bug free.
Its all a bit Mickey Mouse... some updates cause more problems than they fix as you know.
Right now my phone is 99% awesome. The compass isnt perfect, wobbles a bit, but i never use it anyway.
Everything else works great.. the speaker is crap. I cant listen to music or hear a conversation using the loudspeaker at all.
The loudspeaker is essentially useless its so quiet and crappy.
Apart from that its still the best rugged smartphone ive found with 6.0 out of the box, glonass, altimeter and fully waterproof (ive tested it many times in rivers).. so yea for the price and features and speed and battery life its still my favorite phone out there

They sent out the 20161216 version OTA so everyone got the original beta release???

If a beta is stable enough it becomes the release candidate and is eventually released

I have the ROM version 20161011. When I attempted to do a OTA update through the phone it says the phone is up to date.
I'm new to this Android thing and have found it very difficult to understand the computer lingo on these forums, so could someone please tell me how to update my phone in the simplest way possible. I've tried the links but when I open the file it empty. I only have a Mac so I won't be able to do a tethered update as it doesn't even recognize my phone.
