I've no time now to test (busy in job) but i'll upgrade and root mine tonight if possible.
Normal steps are flash last ROM 20180313 and after done, flash custom recovery TWRP.
Boot in TWRP and flash SuperSU as usual.

I did the same thing.
Then i shut down the phone by holding the power button pressed for a long time.
Using SP Flash tool i flashed only the stock recovery.
After that every thing started normally. Also once again i tried OTA and got an error when updating. So i just let it be for now because it takes too much time to re-flash everything and then update.

i've updated my BV6000 to the last complete version 20180312 with SP Flash tool (i never use OTA update because seems there is problems with Rooted phones) and some people never receive it.
After done, i've rooted again the device as usual (flash custom TWRP recovery, SuperSU)
Flash also Viper4Android, reboot, install Busybox and all works fine.
In settings, OTA update message say still that you can udate the phone but no problem ... it is done !
For this Rom, easy way to see if update is done is to tap 2 times on power key ... it open the camera now.

So no other changes, only the camera button?

@mauron: what kernelversion does your BV6000 show? it should be 13 march 2018.If not, your phone is not updated.
Just flashed my phone; the android safety patch date is still June 2017. Why no focus on security? Is it so hard to include the safety patches in an update?

I flash the rom 20180104 and for the first time on my bv6000 I received an ota update I made successfully
to see the kernel reported now
only that there is not this double-click function
I do not care much is just to report the thing to the admin
