I tried the local update of ROM 20170223 but unfortunately it did not go well
The procedure seems to work but after the spontaneous reboot of the phone the firm remained 20161216
Maybe it needs a rom before 20170223 to upgrade the 20161216

I also tried to update from 20161216 to 20170223 using this file by local update but didn't work for me using android 7.0
Think this file must be bad or only good for flash.

Admin, please indicate if 20170223 is supposed to work also for Local Update or only for flashing

Does anybody have ROM 20170223 that works with local update? My phone doesn't recognise OTA updates and I'm stuck with 20161216 unless I can get a local update ROM. I don't want to flash as I'm scared of bricking the phone

Try to install again 20161216 via Local Update, it might then recognize OTA updates? Because you won't brick anything flashing, but will loose all the data and apps...

Tried local update to 20161216as suggested above (same ROM as already installed) to see if this would make my OTA updates work.
Installed OK but unfortunately no change, with my phone reporting that it is up-to-date.
Guess I'll just have to accept things as they are.
