I have just bought the Blackview BV6000, it looks tough enough for what I want it for. Feels great.. But.......
This phone came with Android 7.0 installed. It uses a Android AOSP keyboard version 7.0.

For some reason I cannot get the small microphone to the left of the space-bar to appear. It's very annoying.. I'm on the verge of sending the phone back as this is an essential feature.

I have turned on Google Voice typing and set all the settings correctly in 'Language and Input' in the settings menu.

I have also factory reset the phone. Still no luck.

Does anyone know how to get the voice typing symbol to appear?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's a bit tricky. I was exploring input options and Google's voice typing could be enabled. The phone and system are fine, that's matter of configuration. Google keyboard should be installed I think. Then the microphone icon on right top appears and I can also change keyboard and language or switch to voice by long-press the space bar.

I was hoping to use the existing AOSP stock android keyboard. I really wanted to avoid installing anything else so I'm baffled why the microphone won't appear.

Yes, google voice typing is enabled.
Can't figure it out.

I think it must be an issue with the Android 7 upgrade on the Blackview BV6000. Does anyone else have this phone??
If so can you see the microphone to the left of the space bar on the stock AOSP android keyboard? If so, is that on Android 7 or 6.
