Battery won't charge

Sun Jul 10, 2016 3:40 pm

All of the sudden charger won't charge battery.

It is weird. I left it on a charger for a few hours, but battery level stayed at 34%. Battery voltage was rising, i stopped at 4,25V, but percentage stayed at 34%. Phone indicated that it is in charging mode. I tried different chargers. It also didn't show calculation that shows remaining charging time.

I then tried charging with phone turned OFF. It charged phone normally. I disconnected it at 75% and reconnected it again and it stopped charging. It stayed at 75% connected on charger for 1 hour.

I still have original firmware and didn't change any settings or added new apps. It happened all of a sudden.

I will update with further findings or pictures.

Hi,

Have you ever tested how long the battery can last when at 34% or 75% ?

Hello,

I have the same problem since yesterday. I could charge the battery the whole time but suddenly it doesn't. First I had plugged it into the laptop and the charging was very slow (it said 2 days to complete but actually just slowed the depletion a bit). Phone and laptop usb became pretty warm (the phone around the card slots). Then I switched to another cable and power supply and it still doesn't charge, even when the phone is off. I'm not at 12%. edit: After 1 hour charging with phone turned off I gained 7% (using the original blackview charging equipment). That would mean I had to wait 14hrs...

The only thing I changed is plugging in a SIM card and SD card. Both are working. Could this be responsible?

edit: Both cards were used in other phones before whithout problems.

edit2: It seemed to start charging faster about half an hour after powering off. But still to slow. I now removed the sd card and it seems to be almost normal now: 27% and will be finished in about 5hrs (half the time it was before -and it's powered on now). But it doesn't make sense. The battery didn't discharge faster with sd card. It's just charging slower. If the card would drain energy (because of some short circuit or something) I would've noticed. But the phone lasted for over two days. Maybe try to remove a card if you have one and see if it makes a difference.

I think i found my problem. I think that battery has temperature limit for charging. Yesterday was very hot and battery temp was over 40C. When cooler it works normaly. I tested a bit and found that if I run games and phone gets hot charging stops. Phone wont even run off charger, but starts to drain the battery. At least I think so, maybe drain is higher than charger supplies. I hope it was only that. Will report further if problem persists.

Hello,

I'm using the latest one: BV6000_Blackview_V01_20160704

Heat could've been also my problem. It was very warm here too. And as long as the phone was warm it didn't charge. I thought it was because of the SD card (maybe it's producing more heat when inserted?). But could also have been a coincidence. I'll insert the card again and test it during the next days.

I found the problem. Original USB charging cable is faulty. When I said that I tried different chargers I used them with Blackview supplied cable. I don't know if it has bad connection or high resistance. I won't ever explore it further and throw the cable away.

I now modified other micro USB chargers to fit in BW6000 socket. It charges normally now.

The only think that is odd to me is that phone showed correct amperage for charging, and battery voltage was rising. Only percentage stayed the same.
