local update: how to?

Hello all,
first of all, please excuse me if I'm re-asking something that someone else has already asked in other posts that I haven't read so carefully as I'd be supposed to ...
Second, please forgive me for being ... how can I say? ... illiterate? in mobile phones and computers field, but I'm "just" a chief cabin assistant, definitely I'm not an electronic engineer!
So, let's start with my question (my three questions, being precise):
1) my BV6000 last update is 20170708 and didn't solve reboot-while-calling (due to contact ear and phone) problem; there will be another update in next future (another update that my phone will benefit, I mean, since none of last 6 updates did arrive to my phone!)
2) and, if I want to update by myself to 20180330 (locally, ie downloading update in sd card and configuring update manager to get the update itself from there), it's safe? I mean: is riskless? No risk to have my phone "kaputt" and to be in needint of buying another one?
3) if I update to 20180330 as I've said above, will the reboot problem be resolved?
Thanks for answering and have a nice day you all,
Silvia
