BV6000 charger - Charging standard?

Sat Mar 10, 2018 10:15 am

Does the BV6000 use the Chinese USB charging standard, or the European?

There is a few BV6000 chargers on AliExpress which say that it's of European Standard, but I'm not sure if that's just
a selling point or not?

Does anyone know?

Dude! Just get any USB charger that has high charge current. That means 5V - aka any usb charger, and look for 2 Amp power. That way you can charge the phone in less than 3 hours. I do believe the original BV charger has some sort of fast-charging built in.
When you see China/ Eu/ Us etc standard it refers to the plug type and the national/ regional electrical characteristics.
For example US does use 110V 60 Hz AC, with 3 pin sockets, while East Europe uses 220V 50Hz AC with 2 pin sockets. That should not matter in this case. Just get the charger for where you live.

The reason I'm asking is because the BV6000 regulates the current it takes depending on what kind of charger it uses.
The Chinese standard is to bridge the USB +D and -D (these are the data lines within the USB cable) cables at the point of the charger. The phone then looks for this condition before allowing more current to be drawn into the phone.

The European standard is to bridge the USB -D and -D data lines with a 200 ohm resistor. That way if you try to use a European standard charger on a Chinese phone (which is expecting bridged 0 resistance data lines) then the phone will limit the intake current of .5 Amp when it would normally take more (1 Amp or more). That means slower charging.

I'm currently trying to get a couple of alternative charging solutions to work better on the BV6000. One is a hand cranked generator, and the other is a solar panel. Both seem to cap out at .5 Amp so I will have to either bridge the data lines with a 0 ohm, or 200 ohm resistor depending on which standard the BV6000 takes.

I see allot of adds for the BV6000 original charger with the European Standard label.. That's why I'm asking, because this is a Chinese made phone.

My BV6000 still had 30% after 2 months of not being able to charge with USB socket broken. Got it fixed at Mobile Surgeon, Pacific Mall outlet, Markham Ont. No thnxs to Blackview Service or Gearbest Customer Service.for me in Canada anyways.( 1 year in March is ownership period.)

Broken second time at an internal connection. Used some type of special adhesive. Certainly no issue with charge times,(3hrs. From 11% again)!?$
Like phone hope it lasts. Use anti glare screen mat since brightness is dim in sun. Also volume boost app. Is useful at times or use speaker phone in vehicles.
I am sending this message with BV6000 .
