20171011 update ... missing?

Thu Nov 23, 2017 5:02 pm

Hello all,

I've right now noticed that there has been another update, after 20170708 but my phone claims to be updated ...at 20170708! So, how comes that it didn't show 20171011 update?
And, please, don't ask me to download it and install it via my PC, flashing ROMs and so on: I'm a simple phone user, not a technician (I'm a cabin stewardess, not an electronic engineer!) :D

And finally:is there a way to get it directly on phone? I mean: if I download it via phone's browser and store it on USB memory, then select "local updates" in firmware section, does it work the same way it does downloading by itself? And: how can I be sure to be able rolling it back if it doesn't work or if it messes my phone up?

Thanks and best,
Sil

Hello Sil,
there is only one way to update to 20171011 (flash ROM), but if you have no problem i suggest you to don't touch anything and use your phone like that. You know what you have but you don't know what you could get ! ;)

Thanks, bvbw: me too I was thinking so because my first problem is that I have only this mobile and can't stay without mainly for job-related reasons (and for private life too, huh? ;) ). In next future I'll get another one, so maybe I'll be able to use first one for testing.
Notice that if I'll solve the "phone-reboting-when-used-like-every-other-phone" (i.e. keeping it to my ear while calling) I can get rid of always wearing bluetooth earphone that sometimes is a pain ...

Thanks again and best,

Sil

ehm ... I fear it won't resolve anything on phone side and will prevent me to tie my hair up: definitely I think I'll keep my ear at its place! ;)

ehm ... as I said in my first post, I'm "just" a cabin assistant (a Chief Cabin Assistant, huh? Never forget the "Chief" :D ), simply an user, so I don't know how to calibrate anything ... sorry.
But if you can explain me how to the business, I'll do for sure: I'm a fast learner! :geek:

Thanks,
Sil

No problem, very easy,
Firstly you have to enable the developper mode (don't be afraid) ;)
For that, go to settings of the phone, go down to the last line "about phone",
tap several times on "build number" until you get message "you are in developper mode"
Return back to phone settings and now you have a new menu "developer mode"
Open this menu, enable it, and go down to the last line "proximity sensor calibration"
Open it and follow the simple steps to calibrate the proximity sensor.
It's all ! :D
