Wifi issue with 5 ghz & BT issue

Fri Nov 10, 2017 9:53 am

Hi, after extensive tests, I noticed the following issues with WiFi and Bluetooth:
- when a 5 ghz wifi is present, I can see TWO identical SSID, one with WPA (real) and one with WEP (non-existant).

Every now and then I loose connectivity, and can resume it only after switching phone to plane mode, and remove it immediately, in some cases also need a reboot. When trying to connect, it remains stuck in various stages: obtaining IP from DHCP, connected but without Internet, or connected but passing no traffic.
- Bluetooth itself seems to be crashed when issue with wifi occurs: it can't connect properly to my car speaker, even after turning them off and on again. Again, only a plane mode switch or reboot resolves the issue.

Another thing I noticed with wifi is that the control panel tends to maintain the previous list of network found, and it takes several seconds to regenerate the correct list of present wifi.

In my opinion, you should review and debug drivers for wifi and bluetooth, and tests them extensively.

I'm using 20170708 since from "release notes" there were no useful changes to justify an update, and in this release it's stated that connectivity problems should be fixed. Actually, they were fixed, but it lasted only for some time, and then the phone began to show this strange behaviour. it seems that I'm not alone, also another user on this forum is reporting the same issue.
I add the fact that double wifi issue is present only with 5 GHZ AP, when using only 2,4 GHZ there are no connectivity problems.

I add also another problem: sometimes bluetooth remain active even if it's apparently turned off, I can notice that because battery is drained at a fast rate, and bluetooth is at top list of object consuming energy (also 50% of energy consumed!). The only way to stop this seems again a plane mode switch or a reboot.
