I dropped my phone in a puddle. And it died. Surprised that the only waterproofing is the annoying rubber plugs.
Managed to revive it after a couple of days in dry rice.
It did however completely wipe the phone. There was a menu in Chinese, a kitten? and I got it started eventually.
Problem is now,when I hold the power button it takes a screenshot. But never locks the phone or brings up the power/reset option.

It's just that i don 't see how you could be surprised that the rubber plugs do the waterproofing.
There's a message every time you restart the phone, and also in the leaflet that came with the phone....
It,s just like with any other machine... If the seals aren't in place you're gonna have a bad time.

Anyways... Since you're kinda on your own with this I'll tell you what I would do. It's not 100℅ sure or safe but here goes:
I would open the phone, take every bit apart, put the battery away, wash everithing but the battery with soapy water and a soft brush, rinse the hell out of it, then let it dry for at least 2 days (1 day if you have a moderate heat source, as in leaving it in a ventilated area with about 40-50°C).
Then i would check every connector, clean it a bit with alcohool, and then put it all back toghether. If it would start i'd do a factory reset and then go from there.

This is based on my experience with some older PCs. After washin the mainboard and thoroughly drying it it got rid of annoying freezing and restarting.
And since u dropped it in a pudlle it is very posiible that there is dryed dirt and matter on the insides.

Hi everyone, the rubber plugs must be closed before you put your phone into the water or please make them all closed in case it will be dropping into any water place.

Interesting: the phone can be deep-factory-reset by short circuiting
But I guess that the key question is: how to get back into English; just change the language?

Yeah I know I should have the plugs in, but since the screw on the sim card cover broke it wouldn't have helped anyway
It seems that the root menu is in Chinese and kittens.
( No I'm not joking there was a high definition pic of a kitten?) Which is why I think I might have reprogrammed the buttons in sifting through the menu trying different options. There were lights flashing and alsorts!
@blackview_admin is There a way to reset the phone again, and can I get a basic translation or guide of the root menu?

I suggest to wash in 90% alcohol instead of water. that will not make the contacts corrode.

Finally got round to getting some alcohol. Washed and working.
But it Looks like I was a bit heavy handed and not the Screen has what looks like water damage. Hoping it'll dry out,
