OTG support for External SSD?

I can connect a flash drive to my Blackview BV6000 and it works fine.

But when I connect an external solid state drive, the phone does not provide enough power to support the drive? Most phones seem to
so why doesn't the BV6000 do this?

I can get it to recognize the ssd if I use powered support but not without external power.

My question is, should the Blackview BV6000 be able to power my external Solid State Drive?

Thanks

Hi There.

I made a mistake in assuming my portable hard drive was SSD (because it is small). It's actually a hard drive. My mistake.
The phone will power it after some fiddling but the best thing to do is to attach a usb hub to the phone and plug a power bank into one port and the hard drive into another. Format the hard drive in FAT32 first.

The phone sees the hard drive (2.5 inch HDD) but can't read it because my current drive is formatted incorrectly.

I was looking for options for travelling as I wanted to transfer files from an SD card onto a HDD so I can re-use the SD card in my camera's.
