Why don't alarms go off?

The native alarm and a third party alarm don't (go off) /wake the phone.
I have disabled the battery optimization for these apps. What is wrong? I am at the latest firmware already.There is a lot on info about Android Marshmallow Doze feature is this to blame? Any response would be highly appreciated.
