Yes root is needed. If interested, write in pm.

No, you could use a button remapper app without root.
But unfortunately I am not possible to tell more details because the app I am using for this is not public. But I guess it also works with similar apps.

Did you see what permissions are requested by these applications? I put one and it wants to read the typed text, right up to the credit card numbers. It's easier and safer to put a root and fix one line in one file.

The remapping App I use needs no singe permission and no online connection.

@phil - I would appreciate you sending me a P.M. with the name oft the app, even a link - if possible.

@lord_slider - thank you but my BV6000 is still new, not even a month old, and i still have 1 year LOCAL warranty. Also it is a company phone, so I don't want to take chances. Still, If you know a bit about the structure of BV6000's software, i think more people would like to know what to change for button remap, and maybe even keyboard timeout - in order to "fix" the slow responding navigation soft keys.

Thank you!

Hi,
if I start the BV6000 (or restart) the SOS function starts by control the volume (+) or (-). A factory reset did not help.

I can not tell from when this malfunction occurred. It took me a few days to find out what caused the SOS function. I started to use the BV6000 3 weeks ago. I scare every time I hear music. Especially with headphones it is too loud.

@Mario Kobolla I am unsure if this is an software or hardware bug. Never heard about such a problem on bv6000 before.

Can I change the device and get a device, which works error-free?
