Hello from France,

I just bought this rugged phone (BV6000) to my 7 years old boy, just to play pokemon go. (so he doesn't use my business phone anymore)
He was very happy and played for one week, but the latest update (0.37) of Pokemon Go is incompatible due to this 'root' problem.

I'm not very confident on how to apply the provided patch on this topic. (Phone is brand new, would be complicated to return it to seller)
Can we expect a permanent fix with official rom update (OTA)?

Regards,

Hi,

This rom is for local update, it is very simple.
just download this rom and follow a old post which teachs you how to install rom via local update on this device.

Yes, the ROM is not half-rooted anymore but the kernel is still flagged as unsecured.
The tag is ro.build.tags=release-keys but the fingerprint is still wrong
ro.build.description=s12v55_jk_3m-user 6.0 MRA58K 1474248398 test-keys
ro.build.fingerprint=alps/s12v55_jk_3m/s12v55_jk_3m:6.0/MRA58K/1474248398:user/test-keys

It's apparently working for some application but SafetyNet reports CTS failed so it can't work with Google Pay and a few other bank application.

Please Blackview development team, we are still waiting for a proper production ROM.

This quote from the andriod dev page might explain why android pay does not trust a test-key release.

https://source.android.com/devices/tech ... uilds.html

Since the test-keys are publicly known, anybody can sign their own .apk files with the same keys, which may allow them to replace or hijack system apps built into your OS image. For this reason it is critical to sign any publicly released or deployed Android OS image with a special set of release-keys that only you have access to.

So after all this, has blackview listened to its customers? When can we get the ota update of a completed ROM?
How do I return my phone otherwise?
