I downloaded that patch, how do I apply it now? Will I lose all data on phone and have to back it up first?

Before install, you can back up the important data you think

sorry for the problem, just try the link again if your phone also with such a "root problem".
And not all phones with 20160822 rom have such a problem.

Not all people having installed 20160822 have issues with the existence of su file and the "test-keys" labelling because they don't use apps which care about this, but be sure that is existing on every single version of the ROM!
I don't have these issues, but I also have all this present...

So please direct it to your developers - as I already stated prior - that they should use the standard Android development procedures correctly and don't release test ROMs to the customers if not for official customer beta testing.

I still don't know how to apply the new ROM, any tutorials? Will I have to reinstall all apps after the update?

How to install:
copy the *.zip to sd-card.

go to:
-> Settings
-> About phone
-> Wireless update
-> top right, tree points -> lokal updates
-> choose the *.zip
-> install now

The phone will start to recovery and start again.

No data is lost and now it is "release-keys".

Developers, please install "ANT HAL Service" for ANT+ in the next release.
Thank you.

Hello from France,

I just bought this rugged phone (BV6000) to my 7 years old boy, just to play pokemon go. (so he doesn't use my business phone anymore)
He was very happy and played for one week, but the latest update (0.37) of Pokemon Go is incompatible due to this 'root' problem.

I'm not very confident on how to apply the provided patch on this topic. (Phone is brand new, would be complicated to return it to seller)
Can we expect a permanent fix with official rom update (OTA)?

Regards,

How?
Any documentation on this procedure?

I tried to follow instructions here:
viewtopic.php?f=144&t=54240
But when I load the scatter.txt file from the updated ROM in the Flash Tool it says it's invalid...

Hi,

This is a old post on teaching how to get a local update on BV6000.
Similar procedure for your reference.
