Version 20170414 does not seem to have solved the wifi problem. Version shows in system. Have done reset to factory, rebooted several times.Same behavior as in initial post: connecting wifi, message "no internet" and reboot-loop. Stoppable only by being fas when starting and push "wifi off".

Any further ideas?

Hello again.
After some massive googling I have found the solution in a very old (for mobile phone standards) post:
http://www.techsiddhi.com/2014/05/how-t ... ut-no.html

For some reason, the ip address coming from my router did not reach the DHCP server ip entry in the phone. I went into "modify network" by tapping and holding the SSID entry until this option shows up and changed to "static" from DHCP and inserted the correct ip address.

This solved my problem. Hope the above link, that shows more solutions to the same problem, help others, as well.

The Local Update is a smoother way to update your mobile phone than flashing, since with the Local Update you don't loose any data nor any settings. The only inconvenient is that you have to do it step-by-step, meaning you can´t skip firmware release but must install one after the other.

To do so, first you have to:
- download all the Local Update files you need (remember you have to follow the sequence of the releases) here: viewtopic.php?f=144&t=101183&start=10#p302202
- follow the instructions mentioned here: viewtopic.php?f=144&t=41724

f you don't get the OTA update, I'd suggest to install the next firm release trough Local Update, and once done, check if your phone does recognize another firmware available while using the "Search for Updates" menu

Hope this helps, don't hesitate to ask if you have any question!

@admin
I am on version 20161216 and I have tried to do Local update with 20170424. Eventhough phone tries to run the update it will always stay on 20161216. So I assume I need first to update to 20170223, right? So the key question is: where can I find 20170223? It is not listed on the discussion "how to find rom on this board?"

OTA upgrade would be great too, but the phone does not find new version (Setting--about phone---wireless update--check for updates)

Both of the above topics have been asked several times on the forum. I appreciate, if you can resolve at least one of the two way to upgrade.
