Re: Is Attaching a File restricted in Android 7.0?

Thanks Tomator for your comments. I am on version 20161216 so you are on a newer version. I do not have "BV6000" and "CELL 32GB" on my "folder" list. Not even changing the language to Polish help. So need to wait support from Blackview.

Hi,
At least you know the update may solve the problem.
Have a nice day.

@admin
I have now upgrade to version 20170424. The new version did not solve the issue. When attaching a file in Gmail (or uploading a file in a browser dialog), I do not have alternatives to browse folders in the phone and does not allow other than photo&music files to be chosen. Just predefined photo&music folders. I added Google Drive and it is now visible in the choices, but does solve the issue either. So still cannot choose a .gpx file.

Have you found the reason for this and is there a way to get this solved?

I tried to reproduce your problem but I don't have it (on 20161011 and 20171216). So maybe you could try a factory reset.

Thanks Phil for the suggestion.
I had issues while upgrading to 2017xxxx versions. I had to do Factory Reset during the weekend and Flash the 20170424 version to the phone.

Well, I did not try the phone immediately after Factory Reset, but upgraded the Android to 20170424 version and installed apps first. I am not keen on doing the Factory Reset again as installation and setting up everything again takes a lot of time, unless there is some certainty that it helps.

I found a workaround. I installed Arc File Manager. After installation, when I attach a file in Gmail, it shows the sources: picture, music etc like earlier, but Arc File Manager is added to the sources list. And choosing Arc File Manager allows then to choose the appropriate folder and file type. Problem solved!
Perhaps other File Managers would have done the same.
