mic replacement

Fri Sep 08, 2017 5:30 am

Hello, I have ordered a new microphone and am wondering about installation. I just noticed it needs to be soldered. I have done a little soldering but looking at pictures this is not "normal" soldering with wires.... Anyone that knows how to do it, How difficult is it to replace microphone on the old usb-board?
Thank you / Markus

Today, i have changed both my microphone (broken) and my USB-board in same time.
Problem was because separate parts was not assembled (i thought yes !) and without any soldering on the two new parts that i received ...
Areas connexions (4) are very small and it's really difficult to put little soldering point on USB-board and when done, put the 4 mic connectors on it, and after, to solder through over top with a small soldering iron.
It's easier if you use the old USB-board because if you unsolder the old mic quickly you can keep enough soldering on it and you can solder the new mic by direct appply and solder it through by the top.
Don't forget to put again silicon for fixation and waterproof.
Hope i'm enough comprehensible ... i'm not english !

PS : don't drink too much coffee before !

Thank you for your reply bvbw! I was about to use my old usb-board.. If I use the old usb-board, isnt there a risk I solder the old soldering points together, they are so close!
Anyone seen a mic already soldered in place on a usb-board for sale? I had a mic on its way but it was the wrong one so i have to get a new one.

Yes the risk is real but it's more important with a new USB-board without rest of soldering ...
If you are afraid or not sure, maybe it's better to go in a special shop : I think that i had chance because i'm not expert to make soldering as small !
I searched also the two parts soldered together without success : i think that it not exist !
I bought my spare parts on AliExpress.
Good luck !
