phone reboots after upgrade to V01_20170517

Mon Jul 10, 2017 2:24 pm

Hello all,

since last upgrade to V01_20170517 I'm living on my one-year-without-problems BV6000 the nasty experience of random reboots while phone calling (sometimes - but it's rare - it happens a "app System_UI stopped to work" too).

I'm hoping in a new patch resolving this issue, but now I have a new potential problem: as a gift for her birthday, last week I've bought to my partner a BV7000 that now is asking to update to V01_20170517 at its time ... I've told her to wait because I don't trust so much this update, stated what it apparently did on my phone, so I'm asking you:

a) is it safe to install V01_20170517 on my partner BV7000?
b) will be a new update released in not-too-long time?

Last: we both use smartphones as "black boxes" - we're both airline cabin stewardesses, a bit far from mobile technology as cultural background, so please don't ask me to patch anything connecting my mobile to my laptop ;)

Thanks to everyone who'll answer and best regards to anyone,

Silvia

For you reboot problem you could try a factory reset (all data and setting will be lost through this). You also can wait if the next update will fix your problem but I am not able to tell you a date for that update.

The BV7000 needs an other Firmware than BV6000. The latest release for BV7000 (not BV7000 Pro) is called 20170612.

hi, it´s not possible to use BV7000 firmware for other devices; only use a firmware that was build for your device. To solve restarts/reboots you can do a factory reset (you will loose all data!) - other way is to delete cache of the phone. Boot your device holding power and vol+ together until the phone is booting, you will see instructions how to navigate in recovery. Choose clean cache and confirm it. The phone restarts and cache will be deleted - no personal data will be deleted! After restart check if your problem is solved.

thanks, but in this case I fear there's a misunderstanding: I didn't talk about install a BV6000 fw on a BV7000; maybe I've badly read BV7000 message, but I'm quite sure it's saying 20170517 fw update: I supposed there's a 20170517 update for bv7000 too ... I'll take a better look to my partner bv7000pro message as soon as I'll be back home.

and thanks for your suggestion too: I'll try for sure; first I'll delete phone cache, then in case this won't work, I'll reset to factory settings (backing-up every personal data (mail, whatsapp, ebooks, pictures and so on).

Thanks for your reply; I'll wait some days more, then - as digitdia suggests - I'll try emptying phone cache; in the worst case, I'll proceed to a complete backup and a factory reset.

Sorry, but I've quoted the wrong phone: my partner's phone - the one I gave her as birthday present - is a BV7000 pro.

Hi all,

probably resolved (?); after V01_20170708 update installation it seems to work better.

I've taken a look to viewtopic.php?f=144&t=195578 and it seems to be my problem, where it says "also triggers reboots during phone call if screen activated with ear pressed against screen or in pocket": thinking about it, I've never noticed if the issue came out when calling from car, using BT earphone, but I don't think.

A question, now: how can I set the phone up the way to logging everything?

Thanks,

Sil
