Phone wont boot

Sun Apr 09, 2017 11:17 pm

I bought a blackview bv6000 last august whilst in the UK.

I have used it for a while with no problems until whilst travelling in Asia I used it underwater with the plugs in and later that day the problem occured.
The phone restarted and would not boot past the blackview logo, it just goes black each time and the blackview logo pops back up.

I tried to let the battery die and try again but the same thing happened, it still wouldn't boot.

As I was travelling I did not have a computer at the time so I could not check online for the problem so I just left the phone in my bag assuming it was broken.

Around a month later I had got to Australia and one day I thought to try the phone again. After charging i was surprised when it come back on.
It then worked fine for around 2 days until the one day i was trying to open the camera on the phone, the application kept crashing. First thing i thought was to try and restart the phone, which then caused the problem again and the phone wouldn't boot.

I then tried for the next few days to get the phone back on with no luck.
Around a week later I managed to get the phone working again, and I then used the phone for around 2 weeks although it was having some weird issues. Sometimes the camera would not work unless I restarted the application a few times and the auto-rotate did not work during this time at all.

The battery then died one night and the next day the problem has occurred again, that was 2 days ago now.

At first I believed the phone had some water damage but after all this I am now thinking it could be software related, whatever it is its very strange.

As i am travelling i have not got the screwdrivers to open the case with me, only to take out the plugs and sim card.
I have also tried to boot the phone into recovery mode but as it restarts whilst on the blackview logo i am unsure if this is possible?

Does the phone have warranty? I have a few pictures on there that i would like to try and save although most of them are backed up.
Do you have any ideas what this could be?

Also do you know what size alan key and torx screwdriver I would need to open the phone?

Thanks
Jon

The phone is waterproof when seals are covering both sockets. When jack is in, the phole is no longer sealed and water can get ino the case. This might not damage the phone at once but even when dried may leave residues that bridge some paths on PCB taht may cause indeterministic behavior. You're lucky but I suggest to pass the phone in hands of experienced technician who can cleqn its interior. Your activity rather does not coply with warranty terms. Even if it did, it's unlikely BV would help. They don't care more than pretending they do.

Plus how have I voided the warranty when in that reply I hadn't even opened the phone and had used the seals correctly whilst in water.
I think you should read properly before jumping to conclusions.

For me 'plug' is 'that thing' we can find at the end of the cable (but I'm not english native and maybe don't know few meanings of words). If this kind of plug (phone jack and/or usb) was inserted into the socket, the rubber seal must have had be off and the phone would get water. The seal can keep hermecity up to some depth however. Symptoms are like there was some water inside. Warranty or not, i doubt BV will ever help. See other threads.

I meant the seals which could also be called plugs (i.e. they plug the socket like a plug in a bath).
Not sure who would be stupid enough to take it under water with the charger and earphones connected.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.
