Will not connect to Telus network, BC Canada

Before ordering the Blackview BV2000 cell phone I checked the compatible networks. According to all information available this phone is supposed to work on Telus networks (British Columbia, Canada). It does not. Installing a new Telus SIM card it cannot find or connect to any Telus network. Please assist.
