I have this problem too.

But my apps dont close immediately after the screen locks. They start closing a few hours after they have last been used.

If I go to bed with 20 apps open, I will wake up 6 hours later to only 2 or 3 left open and running.

Keep missing notifications

I have an issue with background apps closing.  I have had the same issue running Android 9 and 10. Turning off battery optimisation etc does not help. I have an issue with background apps closing.
