WiFi does not stay active

when the phone turns off the display, shortly after the wifi turns off, 
I notice this because Whatsapp on PC tells me that the phone is no longer connected.

I can't find settings to handle this behavior
I can't find Keep WIFI active during sleep or WIFI active in sleep
