Re: Android P/Q updates for BV9500?

Well, it's been over a year, and Android 11 is due for public release, but we still haven't gotten android 9 or 10. Clearly Blackview doesn't care about their customers past selling the original items. Android needs to be updated to version 10 at a minimum to ensure safety and anti-malware security....

Re: Update = Porn?

That being said, is there a reason why the firmware automatically installs adups (and, from what we can see, fota)?

I'm quite sure neither of these are part of the core Android SDK, so they are being added in by the OEM crew somewhere along the line. The question is, why?

Re: New update doesn't work

As always, accurately follow these steps: 1) Remove your SIM. 2) Set your microSD card to be portable storage (not internal storage), then remove it from your phone. 3) Charge your phone at 100% and keep it connected to the power charger. 4) Set your phone language to English. 5) Perform a factory ...

Re: [TRACKED] Hotspot not working

So, I've been pretty busy with work and haven't had a chance to test ipconfig. I had thought my first post covered this, but maybe I forgot. All internal network IPs can be pinged, and indeed network shared drives even work. The internal IP for the gateway can be pinged, but not the external IP addr...

Re: [TRACKED] Hotspot not working

@TechAddict
I've tried pinging both web addresses such as www.google.com and dotted IP addresses without success.

Re: [TRACKED] Hotspot not working

I'm not sure if this is the same for everyone, but this is what happens for me: I can connect to the wifi hotspot as per normal. The phone still has internet, but doesn't share it with the hotspot. Hence, devices connected to the hotspot can ping IP addresses which are part of the wifi network, but ...

Bluetooth pairing credentials no longer working after update

So, since the latest update, I now find the BV9500 no longer allows Bluetooth devices to pair with it. The problem occurs when it asks for a pin input from either device to verify credentials. For some reason, it kills the pairing request milliseconds after asking for a pin, so there's no chance of ...

Re: [TRACKED] Hotspot not working

So, it seems as if it's a bit more complicated than first it seemed. For some reason, I can connect my PlayStation 4 to the hotspot and have internet, but only if I create the connection manually on the PS4. Automatic connection won't allow internet access. Also, manually creating the connection did...

Re: [TRACKED] Battery drain issue

Just wondering, why do we have to perform a factory reset after every update? Seems a little excessive, considering no other phone manufacturer requires or even recommends this. I do like my Blackview phone, but I can't factory reset every 3 months or so. I have certain apps for work etc which can't...
