Re: NFC is weak.

I know the range is small, it uses the near field. It is designed to be that way but this phone is way out of spec at 10 mm.

NFC is weak.

I have been using a BV6000 for ever to measure my blood sugar via NFC. On the BV6000 the sensor can be up to 40mm away from the phone and anywhere withing 30 mm of the centre of the back. I recently got a BV8000 to replace it with and the NFC range is terrible. It has to be exactly in one particular...

Re: Seek thermal camera

Solved it. It really is amazing how much better the USB works when it is soldered to the PCB inside, mine wasn't. Absolutely 100% a quality control issue at manufacture.

Soldered and all functional now.

Re: speaker again

A vacuum won't do any good if the gold is tarnished.Bending the contacts slightly cured mine. You can see how much the contacts are compressing by putting a small piece of blu tack in there and putting the back on. The blu tack will compress and sit below the contact springs. That will tell you if t...

Re: Seek thermal camera

So no luck buying one to fit and no replies here so I made one. If you want to do the same here is a picture of it: Top two pins are connected together (GND), this is what puts the phone in host mode. Problem now is that this does not seem to work on my BV6000 even though I can now connect the camer...

Seek thermal camera

I have a seek thermal camera that plugs into the USB (on most phones). It is a mile off fitting in the BV6000 because the USB is too deep. Seek recommend this: https://www.amazon.com/YCS-Basics-Reversible-Extender-Adapter/dp/B01DOBSS2S/ But I can tell by looking at it that there is no way it will al...

Answering the phone

This BV6000 has replaced a Samsung S3. On that when the phone rings you just have to slide any way you like to unlock and answer. Once answered I have 6 big buttons that allow me easily to select loudspeaker particularly when I am driving. On the BV6000 I have to slide to the right, this is particul...

Re: BV6000 Randomly turns off

The more I think about this the more I am convinced it is a button thing. I am also finding the volume at minimum on occasion. When the phone is on stand by in ones pocket this means a press on power then a long press on volume down. Shorter buttons all round I think along with removal of the PPT bu...

Re: BV6000 Randomly turns off

I don't think it is a software issue. This only happens if I take the phone out and have it in my pocket. I reckon that something is pressing the power button while I am walking about or working. I am going to 3d print a thinner power button so the part you press is recessed as it should have been i...
