I'm not fond of the 7000 either. NFC is another thing, as I believe they've dropped that on the 7000? Isn't there an 8000 in the pipeline too?

What's the general opinion with regard to the latest update; Worth upgrading to from the February firmware or not? Went ahead and updated the software, and it's been working a treat so far. One thing I have noted, regarding battery life. Mine seems to be slightly better now I've turned off battery ...

With the pop-ups, I've always just disabled all notifications for the native launcher, and installed a different launcher. Seems to have worked for me, so far.

Mine actually improved ever so slightly with the upgrade to 7. Mine was like yours is on 6. If I moved the phone even slightly away from my ear, it used to cause no end of problems with the screen turning on, (I put it into aeroplane mode multiple times accidentally), and calibration did nothing. Slightly awkward, but not bad. A lot of cables are easily altered to fit. Things like watertightness and such mean there will usually be tradeoffs elsewhere.
