Tue Feb 02, 2016 4:13 pm

Crown is a mt6592 device
According to Mediatek the mt6592 soc supports h.265 encoding, the build-in camera app only does h.264 is there a way to record video in h.265 natively or do I need an extra video app, does enybody know what video app records in h.265?
h.265 is 2-4 times more efficient then h.264,

also mt6592 should support google's vp9 codec that one should be better then the h.264 again anyone knows how to record video in vp9?

The MT6592 features a world-class multimedia subsystem with a quad-core graphics engine, an advanced video playback system supporting Ultra-HD 4Kx2K H.264 video playback and support for new video codecs such as H.265 and VP9, a 16-megapixel camera and a Full HD display. The SOC also features MediaTek ClearMotion™ technology for automatic frame-rate conversion of standard 24/30fps video to high-quality 60fps video for significantly smoother playback.

I did some googling and it seams only lollipop's native camera app has h.265 encoding I couldn't find any other info about h.265 on android, it seams a shame Crown has hardware support for h.265 but there is no way to use it :(
I may need to get/poprt cm 12.1 on Crown to use it's full potential
