[TRACKED] Local ROM update not working

Tue Dec 26, 2017 5:38 pm

Hi guys,

Just downloaded latest ROM: BV8000Pro_blackview_20171219

I did a local update, the phone seemingly updated. When it rebooted I checked my current version and it's still V0.1_20170803_20171011-0929

How can I get the phone to update properly?

Chris

You'll have to flash it to the latest firmware.

Not cool, I don't have time to play a technician. Even if I flashed as advised what about next updates? Will I have to do it this way every time and wipe phone in the process? This is not comfortable.

A phone wipe (aka factory reset) is highly recommended after each update, OTA, local or flashed.
This is a good practice on all the Android phones if you want to avoid issues and to use firmware updates correctly. ;)

Next updates, as always, can also come via OTA, so in this case you won't have to flash your device everytime.

Yeah, I can live with a wipe as Google has all my stuff synced but the thing with the complicated PC application and a danger of bricking my device is a bit deterring. On the other hand its great that you guys release new ROMS so quickly I will wait a few more weeks and when time allows, will do the flashing.

Cheers,
Chris

Good Morning
You know an app for backup all apps and restore them after the wipe factory reset?

About the backup you are talking about. Is there a backup app that keeps all the apk files so you don't have to download them all from the start? And restore them back?
