I have been using the app Ampère (https://forum.xda-developers.com/androi ... r-t3012890) for long time now and I have always found it very useful and informative.
Since I upgraded to the ROM 20180124, I haven't been able to use this app. Reading about possible causes, I have stumbled into this warning: "If a device has an erroneous or dummy implementation of the Power Profiles for Android, then the app will never support it or the app will just show the erroneous or dummy values delivered on the interface. Please ask your ROM developer to implement it correctly."
I am not a tech, but I wonder whether something went wrong in that ROM with the Power Profiles, if the problem is related to other power-related issues reported by other users, and if it could be fixed.
Any words on that?

The app was working perfectly with previous ROMs... this is why I specified that perhap something went wrong in this one.
Specifically, the app reads the charging and discharging current of the phone and it is dependent on the battery sensors of the phone.
But after the last upgrade, the app reads "zero" the whole time.

I can confirm that it is the same on my device. With version 20180124 battery charging current is not showing anymore. With previous versions it was ok.

Did you perform a factory reset after such update?
Did you flash it or updated it via OTA?

I moved my SIM card to my old phone and now BV8000 is for test purpose only.

So i started testing of the "Power Profiles for Android".
I tested several version listed below. All versions were installed using PC flashing and also after each install I made a factory reset.

20171219-1600 - Android Power Profile is working, Ampere showing amperage.
20171227-1550 - Android Power Profile is working, Ampere showing amperage.
20180124-1443 - no power profile, no results from Ampere, both new and old measuring methods are not working.
20180307-1950 - no power profile, no results from Ampere, both new and old measuring methods are not working.

I also installed version 20180328 (which is android 8) - again power profiles are not supported, Ampere is not showing any data.
After reading the changelog I see they are trying to fix some battery drain issues and my guess is that they are "fixing" it by removing components from the operating system. Very sad.

Thank you @rkolev. That's a very meaningful test. And very disappointing results, indeed. Hopefully the team of blackview will work on it...
