Proximity sensor problem

Postby peluso » Fri May 19, 2017 9:23 am

I noticed that the proximity sensor does not work well with high lighting levels or with direct sunlight on the screen.
In practice, when you make a call does not switch off the screen approaching the phone to your ear.
In brightly lit environments it works regularly.
Is this hardware or software error?
How do I fix this problem?

You can calibrate your Proximity sensor in engineer mode:

- type *#9646633# into the keypad of the phone app
- go to tab "Hardware Testing"
- open "sensor > Light proximity sensor > PS Calibration > Calibration > do calibration"

Under which light conditions should the calibration be performed?
Low light or high light?

I would say light is not important because you just calibrate the Proximity (near of things to the sensor).
But just try it. If it don't work like it should you can calibrate again in other light.

I think the correct proximity sensor calibration was made by Blackview.
The proximity sensor works properly in a normally lit environment.
When the brightness is strong, the proximity sensor does not turn off the display during the call.
A response from Blackview would be appreciated by everyone.

When you call you should have your ear in front of the sensor so that NO bright light can come to the sensor. ;)

Can be both, a soft- (80%) or a hardware problem (20% guessed probability)!
Try to calibrate! I am sure Admin will say nothing else.

Successful calibration, says PASS
But the problem remains the same.
Restarted phone, nothing has changed.

On my phone there are complete different values (TS High 150, TS Low 100) and it seems I am not able to calibrate.
If calibration works for you and don't help I don't know what else to try.
