How I am doing a PC Flash to The OTA update of 20160713

Sun Jan 29, 2017 12:14 am

My BV6000 currently runs the OTA update Build Number V01_20160608. This an rom that i flashed onto my phone after the OTA update prior created difficulty in seeing the Sim Card. It was, as far as i know, an official fix, and it installed with no problem using some of the flashing tools i downloaded to my computer from the internet... I personally have not experienced any issues with this file excpet for the gyroscope issue described in thie following post:
https://business.facebook.com/www.blackview.hk/posts/1311768425518583
So now i have gotten all the software i need to reflash my phone using my PC which includes the following files:
All MTK USB Driver 2014 https://tehnotone.com/windows-10-mtk-vcom-usb-drivers-for-32-64-bit-drivers-installation-tutorial/
SP Flash Tool V5.1620
https://tehnotone.com/download-sp-flash-tool-v5-1620/
and, of course,
20160713_s12v55_jk_3m https://mega.nz/#!G0kmHagA!4Ov1n7WfRWXjrfbQK3ASuzD4OpJZ8HlXIP4RS-5GVLM
I will be following the following instructions using my Windows 10 PC: Now since i do not speak nor understand Russian i have paid special attention to what can be seen and discerned from the following video as i proceed to update the ROM on my BV6000:

Now i am aware that the Android N update is coming soon, but as you should all know that it is still being worked on and is not ready for public distribution, in the meantime i am making this upgrade because i recently received a new set of VR Goggles ( Original Xiaomi VR Virtual Reality 3D Glasses ) and wish to start using my BV6000 for VR apps like Google Cardboard and Daydream. if you know any issues with this rom or want any more information on the procedure i am taking please let me know in the comments. Thank You Fellow Blackview BV6 Owners and Users!

One of the first things you should know is how to manually update your driver...
In order to manually update your driver, follow the steps below (the next steps):

1. Go to Device Manager (right click on My Computer, choose Manage and then find Device Manager in the left panel)

2. Right click on the hardware device you wish to update and choose Update Driver Software

3. Choose to select the location of the new driver manually and browse to the folder where you downloaded the driver

Now remember i am using Windows 10 64bit, so this basic information should apply to all similar windows computers, but verify to be sure!

To determine the version of Windows 10 that you have (32 bit or 64 bit):

Sun Jan 29, 2017 12:32 am

Right-click on Start then click on System
In the System window that opens, in System section, you will find your version of Windows next to System type

disable Windows 10 64 bit driver signature enforcement

Sun Jan 29, 2017 12:35 am

remember: this is what i am doing to My computer, if you decide to do this to Your computer you do it at your own risk. I am just documenting my steps here so that it might help someone else who needs to know this stuff...
On your 64 bit Windows 10 desktop click on Start then on Settings
Click on Update & security then in the left pane click on Recovery
Under Advanced startup click on Restart now button
Click on Troubleshoot then on Advanced options
Click on Startup Settings then on Restart button
The computer will restart with the Startup Settings screen
To disable the driver signature enforcement until next restart press on number key 7 or F7 on your keyboard.
After restart you can proceed with the unsigned MTK drivers installation for your 64 bit Windows
After you install the unsigned drivers, to use them again in the future, you have to repeat this procedure

FYI Processor and Memory

Sun Jan 29, 2017 12:42 am

The BV6000 houses an octa core MediaTek Helio P MT6755 system on a chip. Its CPU runs at 2 GHz, which is much higher than average for a smartphone processor.

With 3 GB of RAM, the BV6000 has more memory than an average smartphone from this past year.

this link shows you the way to fix the issue

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eatFmUyth_Y

if you get that checksum error when you attempt to load the scatter file,
you have to open the checksum file in notepad, and change the sum of CHECKSUM SWITCH to 0
then hit save.
problem solved!

Once you have everything in order as described above, you are good to go, when take the steps to instal the vcom drivers, you may have to install all of the available drivers as i did... once you have those drivers on your computer you can then open SP flash tool program as administrator, add scatter file from the extracted ROM folder and then you will see the download button in the flash tool program, once you hit download you have about 2 seconds to plug your phone in otherwise it will not be recognized and you will have to try again.

SUCCESS!!!
i got the new rom installed and even though i had to restart the phone once after the first boot up, the second time i started the phone it was a fresh install. i went to add my google account and install a simple VR app and the gyro and whatnot is working great. I hope this helps someone, if you have any questions drop me a message or if you see i missed something let me know. The black view bv6k is one , if not the best rugged phone on the market right now and its almost 1 year old and still rocks. enjoy it! you got a smartphone worthy of being the flagship! thanks!
